I just want to say hi. I'm kinda new to this board.
I'm in to Joan Jett and the Runaways & Melissa Etheridge.
I play drums.
The Runaways are the first rock n roll women band ever. I have met Joan, Sandy & Cherie, and I must say that Cherie really stood out from them all. She really acts like she cares, (hell She Does) I'm in love with Joan, But Cherie is the sweetest of them all
Hello and Peace to you all..... KatJett

Because I am a stickler...the Runaways were not the first woman rock band ever; there was Fanny, Birtha, The Pleasure Seekers (Suzi Quatro's band), Goldie & the Gingerbreads and a number of others. Fanny even had hit records.
The Runaways were, however, the first all-girl/woman rock band to achieve a major public persona and their influence is still felt.
One of the best books on the history of women in rock, including the all-girl bands, is Gillian G. Gaar's "She's A Rebel."

Its Been a while since I was on this board, Back then I was "EllaNoise".
Cherie is so down to earth and makes us (the fans) feel like we are as important to her as she is to us. You will find lotsa good people here, I have.
